Widening the candidate pool. What do you do when you run out of the right talent in your home market?
09-Oct-2007: Although relocating candidates has been a rarely used tactic over the last few years, we have recently noticed a significant shift in attitude from both clients and candidates, particularly in the recruitment of skilled technical personnel. With a shortage of talent in your home market and an increasing demand for niche skills, more companies are now willing to consider relocating candidates to fill key positions. In a period of rapid growth, widening the pool of talent can be extremely cost-effective and time-efficient. But most importantly, it allows you to select the best candidate over the available candidate.
We have found countries new to the EU such as Poland, Romania and Bulgaria a great source of well educated and motivated talent who are excited by the opportunity to relocate.
There are challenges involved with relocating new employees; the interview process needs to be rigorous to minimise the risk on the behalf of both the candidate and client.
